We are a small business and this is a small site. There is no account system,
no online store, no advertising network, and no analytics or tracking pixels.
Information you give us
The Site has one form: the audit request and contact form. It asks for your
name, work email address, and the name of your center, and optionally your
phone number, the number of lanes you operate, what you are most interested
in, and whatever you write in the message box.
When you submit that form, the information is emailed to us. It is not
stored in the Site’s database. Once it reaches us it lives in our email system
and, if we go on to work together, in our ordinary business records.
If you email us, call us, or connect with us on LinkedIn instead, we hold
whatever you choose to tell us in the same way.
Information collected automatically
Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard web server information
for every request — IP address, date and time, the page requested, referring
page, and browser user agent. These logs exist for security and to keep the
Site running, and are retained by our host on their own schedule.
Cookies. The Site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. WordPress, the
software the Site runs on, sets functional cookies in two situations: when
someone logs in to administer the Site, and — if you post a comment and tick
the box to save your details — to remember your name and email for next time.
Browsing the Site without doing either of those things sets no cookies.
Comments. If commenting is enabled on an article and you leave a comment,
WordPress stores your name, email address, comment, IP address, and browser
user agent, so the comment can be published and checked for spam.
Third parties
Google Fonts. The Site loads its typefaces from Google’s font servers. As a
result, your browser’s IP address and basic request information are disclosed
to Google when a page loads. We do not control what Google does with that; see
Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Our hosting provider stores the Site and its server logs on our behalf.
Our email provider receives and stores form submissions and correspondence.
Links to LinkedIn or other external sites are ordinary links. We do not embed
tracking widgets, share buttons that phone home, or social pixels.
How we use information
We use what you send us to reply to you, to prepare and discuss proposals, to
deliver services if you become a client, and to keep our own business records.
We use server logs to keep the Site secure and working.
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral
advertising, or use it to build advertising profiles. We do not add you to a
marketing list because you filled in the contact form; if we ever start a
mailing list, joining it will be a separate, deliberate choice.
Legal bases (visitors in the EEA and UK)
Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent, or steps taken at
your request before entering a contract, for the information you send us
through the form; performance of a contract for client work; and our
legitimate interests in keeping the Site secure and answering enquiries.
Retention
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for [12 / 24] months and then
deleted. Client records are kept for as long as we work together and for
[7] years afterwards, to meet tax and professional obligations. Server logs are
kept for as long as our host retains them.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you,
ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we will do so unless the law
requires us to keep it. Write to us using the details below.
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other US states
with privacy statutes may have specific rights to access, delete, correct and
port their information, and to appeal a refusal. We do not sell or share
personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front, and we
will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.
Visitors in the EEA or UK also have rights to object to processing, to restrict
it, to data portability, and to complain to a supervisory authority.
Security
The Site is served over HTTPS. We take reasonable measures to protect the
information we hold, but no website or email system is perfectly secure, and we
cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Site is aimed at the operators of bowling and entertainment centers, not at
children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under
16. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will
delete it.
Do Not Track
We do not track visitors across other websites, so we take no action on Do Not
Track or Global Privacy Control signals — there is nothing for them to switch
off.
Changes
We will update this policy when the Site changes. The effective date above
tells you when it last changed. Material changes will be noted on this page.
